Step Action

5 Left click the Configuration tab and then left click on the Alerts icon. The following screen appears:

Destination This dropdown menu allows you to choose and configure up to eight destination

types. You can leave this value as Destination 1.

Recipient Description This field allows you to assign a customized name to your destination. You can

leave this value as Destination 1 or change it to any name you want.

Notification Method This dropdown menu allows you to choose the type of delivery method that is

used to send notifications. Since you are using the internal modem, you can only

choose one of the following values:

• Mail via PPP

• SNMP via PPP

Alert Level This dropdown menu allows you to choose when an alert is sent out. You can

have alerts sent out for all events or critical events only. By default, alerts are

disabled. Set this value to either Critical Only or All Alerts.

Email Address This field allows you to enter an email address of the person who is to receive

the alert. Enter the email address of the person who is to receive the alert. For

this to work, you must have the Notification Method set to Mail via PPP.
